Fees
What sessions cost.
Every fee is on this page. No packages, no tie-ins, and the first 15 minutes is a complimentary consultation — you can hear how Ravi Teja works, and ask whatever you need to, before anything is charged.
Counselling with Ravi Teja (RCC) in Surrey, BC starts at $165 CAD. Individual counselling is $165 CAD for 60 minutes. Couples counselling is $190 CAD for 60 minutes and $250 CAD for 90 minutes. If someone else is paying
Counselling after a motor vehicle accident, after a workplace injury, or after a violent crime is usually paid for by a programme rather than by you. The rates below are what is billed to that programme — for approved sessions there is normally nothing for you to pay.
- ICBC — initial sessionLonger first appointment, including the intake assessment$268 CAD billed to ICBC
- ICBC — subsequent sessions$160 CAD billed to ICBC
- Crime Victim Assistance Program$135 CAD billed to CVAP
- WorkSafeBCBilled against what your referral letter approves
If you are not sure which of these applies to you, ask. Working out what you are entitled to before the first session is part of the job, and there is no cost or obligation in the question.
Does extended health cover this?
Many extended health plans in British Columbia cover sessions with a Registered Clinical Counsellor, though the amount and the conditions vary by plan. Check with your provider whether they cover an RCC specifically, and what your annual limit is. A receipt is provided for every session so you can submit a claim.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends entirely on what you are bringing and what you want from it. Some people come for a handful of sessions during a crisis and stop when it passes; a typical course of work runs somewhere between twelve and eighteen sessions; some people keep a monthly session going for years. None of it is committed to in advance, and you can stop whenever you want.
What if I cannot afford counselling?
There are low-cost and free counselling services offered by community organisations, universities and non-profit agencies across BC, and some therapists offer sliding-scale fees based on income. If cost is the barrier, say so — it is worth asking rather than assuming.
